Knot
Information The development of new ropes and techniques have led
to changes in nearly all phases of rope rescue. One area of change has been the
trend toward simplifying the knots in use. We have been using the figure "8"
family of knots for several years and recommend them for general use. We also
recommend the double fisherman's knot for high strength joining of ropes. The
standard bowline is a required skill for any accomplished rigger.
